To enjoy the rainbow, first enjoy the rain.
- Paulo Coelho
Rain, clouds, mist, and an elusive rainbow. This ethereal design captures the air, light and atmosphere of fresh rain, the sun breaking through clouds, and the feeling of a fresh start and being fully present to a fleeting, magical moment.

Fluorite is a fascinating stone that forms in cubic crystals in a wide array of translucent to transparent colours, and commonly fluoresces under ultraviolet light (the term "fluorescence" is believed to have been coined from the effect of UV light on fluorite.) Historically it has been used for adornment and decoration, being soft enough to take precise carving and etching, and industrially it is used in the creation of some glasses and polymers, including creating scope and camera lenses! Thanks to its unique formation and luminous clarity, fluorite has long been believed to strengthen focus and peace of mind.
These airy, open-work silver earrings are set with stunning, triangular fluorite cabochons that glow within their silver frame. A cloud of filigree-like silver suspends the stone setting, and the silver gleams with a high polish. The stones are set with solid, highly polished back plates to reflect tons of light through their depths, the fluorite lightly magnifying the textural details of recycled silver like water over rocks. Soft, glowing tints of green, blue and purple make these perfect everyday earrings that go with just about anything. Statement length with a bit of playful weight to them, they measure 1.9" (4.8 cm) long by approximately .7" (17 mm) wide at their widest point, swinging from a pair of my custom-made, rounded sterling silver earwires. A pair of clear silicone stoppers is included to keep them securely on your ears.
I have recycled much of the silver used to make these earrings; melting sterling scrap down to form silver ingots, flattening and drawing the silver down to plate and wire using hammers and my rolling mill, and then using this newly reclaimed silver to create my work. These amazing fluorites were sourced from PierreRouge in Marieville, Québec.
All of my jewelry is made by me in my cozy home studio and will be shipped to you as shown, beautifully packaged and ready for giving as a gift for someone special (like yourself...?)
Thank you for shopping and supporting handmade!
