Stupid Animal Hybrids blank holiday card set, funny plant and animal mashup drawings, alternative winter holiday humour
Deck the halls with stupid animals, fa la la la la, la la la laaaa!
After many requests, I am thrilled to offer a selection of stupid animal hybrids holiday-themed greeting cards! Starring a few of my more festively-themed Stupid Animal Hybrid drawings from the past few years, these cute (and admittedly, slightly weird) greeting cards are the perfect alternative to the usual holiday cards, bearing imaginary creatures of fictitious festive repute: the Great Hawthorned Owl, the Helleboar, the Magpine, and the Mistletoad!
Each card measures 4" (10.2 cm) wide by 5.5" (14 cm) tall, and is crisply printed in black on white, 100 lb stock and includes a 4 3/8" (11.1 cm) x 5 3/4" (14.6 cm) white envelope. The interior of the card is blank so that you can write to your heart's content, and the back of the card bears a silly factoid pertaining to each creature:
THE GREAT HAWTHORNE OWL:
With its festive red berries that feed birds all winter long, hawthorn branches were traditionally hung above doorways as protection against evil spirits and bad luck.
With their sharp beaks and sharper eyesight, owls traditionally hung above doorways to ward off critters, and judge your outfit.
---
THE HELLEBOAR:
Hellebores, aka Christmas Rose, bloom all winter long in spite of the cold and snow. Their tenacity reminds us that there is life even in the dead of winter.
Boars, aka Bristle Pigs, root around all the time, and eat just about anything. Their tenacity reminds us that any time is the right time for snack time.
---
THE MAGPINE:
The pine tree has been a favourite decoration of winter festivals for thousands of years. Evergreens remind us of the promise of the coming spring as we festively decorate them with shiny things.
The magpie has been a favourite figure of both wisdom and jerkdom for thousands of years. A group of magpies is called a parliament, which likely means they probably shouldn’t be trusted. particularly around shiny things.
---
THE MISTLETOAD:
A kiss under the mistletoe has become one of thefestive season’s most enduring and beloved traditions. A kiss under the mistletoad? Not so much...
