The inspiration:
That delicate, unusual pink that saturates springtime sunsets. A soft, persistent glow that evokes dew drops on fresh blooms and raindrops on petals. Peaceful, persistent beauty.

The materials:
Luminous rose-peach teardrop shaped peach moonstones, held in open halo frames, and suspended by high contrast, custom sterling earwires.

The history:
Moonstone was named because of how its inner structure diffracts the light (adularescence), creating a shimmering glow that the ancients believed was moon rays captured within the stone. The great designers of the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau eras favoured moonstone for its delicate, ethereal glow and subtle, romantic colour, and it became symbolic of good luck, abundance and femininity. It was considered a stone of protection for travellers and for those going through life transitions, as it is said to reduce stress and anxiety.

The process:
These peachy pink moonstone petals are carefully set in simple, solid back bezels that float within a perfect halo of sterling wire. Its ornate sterling silver earwires have been finished with a deep patina to contrast the bright stone and polished wire. A pair of clear silicone stoppers is included to keep them securely on your ears. These earrings have been polished to a high shine.
